- Tea Tree Gully Council own and operate Waterworld, one of South Australia's largest outdoor swimming centres. Decades old, Waterworld was in need of a makeover. Attendances had been falling over many years and the cost of maintenance was increasing.
SWPS won the contract for a major refurbishment which included:
• Installation of a new disabled access ramp and wet deck gutters to the existing 50m pool
• New wet deck gutters to the existing 25m pool
• A new splash deck with a range of water toys
• Waterslide runouts
Of course, these refurbished and new pools needed new tiling, stainless steel fittings, plant, hydraulics and balance tanks.
Quality materials and equipment will result in minimal maintenance and this, combined with huge increases in attendance rates has turned around the financial performance of the centre.
